چکیده

This paper presents a discussion on several methods that can be used to improve the testability of complex mixed-signal telecommunication integrated circuits. We begin by outlining the role of test and its impact on product cost and quality. A brief look at the pending test crises for mixed-signal circuits is also considered. Subsequently, we shall outline the evolution of test strategies with time, and their corresponding test setups for verifying the function of the analog portion of a mixed-signal circuit. The remainder of the paper will describe several circuit techniques for improving test access and providing built-in self-test solutions for telecommunication circuits.

Analog and mixed signal modelling with SystemC-AMS

SystemC will become more and more important for the design of digital circuits from the specification down to the RT-Level. Complex systems often contain analog components. This paper introduces concepts for the extension of the SystemC methodology for the specification and design of analog and mixed signal systems. The concepts will be illustrated on a telecommunication system including digita...

Modeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO

The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...

Modeling of Substrate Noise Impact on a Single-Ended Cascode LNA in a Lightly Doped Substrate (RESEARCH NOTE)

Substrate noise generated by digital circuits on mixed-signal ICs can disturb the sensitiveanalog/RF circuits, such as Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), sharing the same substrate. This paperinvestigates the adverse impact of the substrate noise on a high frequency cascode LNA laid out on alightly doped substrate. By studying the major noise coupling mechanisms, a new and efficientmodeling method is p...

A MEMS Capacitive Microphone Modelling for Integrated Circuits

In this paper, a model for MEMS capacitive microphone is presented for integrated circuits.  The microphone has a diaphragm thickness of 1 μm, 0.5 × 0.5 mm2 dimension, and an air gap of 1.0 μm. Using the analytical and simulation results, the important features of MEMS capacitive microphone such as pull-in voltage and sensitivity are obtained 3.8v and 6.916 mV/Pa, respectively while there is no...
